Anticipation

Here we are now, last day before departure and the excitement just keeps building. Pretty much a sleepless night last night, hopefully get to bed early tonight so we will be prepared for the very early wakeup tomorrow. Have to be at the airport for check-in by 5:00AM.

Checking the Waikiki web cam almost hourly now. All our family and friends have been given the webcam URL and will be watching for us tomorrow after our arrival.

Camera batteries are all charged, supply of video tape is packed and Renee will be turned loose at wakeup tomorrow to start documenting our trip. She is using work as a distraction to keep her mind off the pending flight. Not in a bad way, she just doesn't want to be thinking to much about it. That way her excitement level will peak tomorrow, rather than tonight when she is trying to sleep.

Somewhat harder on me, with being retired, I am running out of things to do to occupy my mind. Thought I'd watch some TV while typing in the Blog. This blogging is a neat idea. I have always kept a log of our vacations at my summer cabin, and this just allows me to type it rather than handwriting it.

We have a couple of things already planned out. First thing after check in is to head to the beach and scout out the area. Have to be in position for the web cam as well. We plan on hiking up Diamond Head, visiting Hanauma Bay, taking the tour of Pearl Harbour and the Arizona Memorial. We may even rent a car and head for the North Shore to watch surfers on the "BIG" waves. Staying at the Aqua Aloha Surf and have heard nothing but good things about it from friends who have been there and ratings found on the internet.

Once I figure out how to post pictures, I will add some. That's about all for this writing.
